Armenian Wedding – the marriage in Aremenia includes the proposition related traditons, engagement plus the wedding service it self.

The proposition is organized during the meal held within the bride’s house. This tradition is recognized as “khosk-kap”.

The groom (“pessa”) arrives there with a few of their loved ones and friends that are good. The member that is eldest of his family really does the proposition.

The elders give the answer within the bride’s family members. Following a positive response every person drinks some tea.

The priest occurs. He blesses the few as well as the engagement bands. The some time spot regarding the wedding is defined. This tradition is named “hghe ktrel”.

On a time ahead of the wedding groom’s cousins tradionally prepare trays (“sinis”) or baskets with different good fresh fruit, candies and gift suggestions. Among those presens could be the famous Armenian cognac.

Inside the house a band called “sazandar” executes old-fashioned music. Every person there has red and riboons that are green into the clothing.

Regarding the wedding several members of the groom’s family go to the bride’s home day. They dance to your conventional Armenian songs performed on the “dhol” drum and a wind instrument called “zurna”.
